  • Hi Steve,

Great conference.  Thank you for hosting this.

I'd like to invite you to a new group I've just started called "Authentic Challenge Based Problem Solving for the Real World."

Here's the description of the group....

I'm interested in having a conversation with those interested in solving wickedly complex problems in the real world.

I see these problems as presenting authentic learning opportunities...

My first course along these lines is called Authentic Science Research for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship.

The bigger vision is a world without hunger.  Stated another way:  The end goal is teaching others the principles of science, engineering, ecology and entrepreneurship that allow others to optimize food production systems and make a living doing so.  I'd like to see others growing healthy, pesticide-free sustainable food for themselves and for their local communities.

If done well, people around the world would solve their own problems of hunger locally by developing their own technology appropriate for local conditions.

Our role will be to provide them with scientific and engineering challenges that train their minds to think outside traditional ways of doing and thinking in order to create given the constraints of their own environments.

Would you like to join me in this endeavor?

  • Thanks, Steve!  I work with John Edelson (Science4Us & Spelling City etc) and he pointed me in your direction since you WERE nearby this year. It's been fascinating checking out your different offerings. I'm thrilled to find out more!

  • Help please, I have very foolishly called the group Lycee Val de Seine, while it should have been 'Lycee Val de Seine - Ellett High School'. How can I change the name? Should I destroy my (very small) group (how?) and start a new one? thx
