The SelfDesign Learning Foundation (Canada) and the SelfDesign Foundation (US) offer holistic, child-centric learning opportunities to learners who seek a more personalized education than the "one size fits all" model that traditional schools provide. After serving thousands of learners in British Columbia, Canada for the past 25+ years, SelfDesign has recently begun serving learners in the US and other countries to help them become compassionate, self-aware, self-directed young adults who are focused on making their communities and world a better place. SelfDesign offers parents and learners support in co-creating a personalized learning plan that puts learners in the center of the learning process. Over the course of the year, our learning consultants engage with learners and their families to mentor and assist the learners and families in using the SelfDesign methodology to develop the skills and sensibilities that nurture and develop self-directed learners.

About Me

I've been involved in alternative education since 1978 as a Montessori Directress and served on the boards of the alternative schools my children attended. Currently, I'm working at SelfDesign as the Director of Global Learning Programs and as an administrator in the Special Ed Program. Before working at SelfDesign, I worked with home learners and kids with special needs at Clonlara for 10 years and started home learning with our children in 1994. It's exciting to be part of a Global Network of like minded people who believe in nurturing a love of learning!
