About Me
I am a homeschooling mother and the author of REAL Science Odyssey Biology 2 and Chemistry 1. I am currently working on REAL Science Odyssey Earth and Space 2. Last year in addition to homeschooling my son, I taught a homeschool science co-op. I also write a blog and magazine articles for The Homeschooler magazine. Before having my son I taught chemistry and biology at community colleges in San Diego, California. During this journey, through my teaching, writings, and studies I have thought a great deal about how science is taught. I think there needs to be a paradigm shift about the way science is learned and the importance we give to learning the subject that explains how the natural and physical world works. We need to shift away from memorizing facts to a more process based approach. I think there is no better venue outside of college for learning science than the homeschool environment. Through my talks and writing I hope to revolutionize how science is taught.
