Digital literacy is the ability to use digital technology or networks to locate, evaluate, and use information. It is becoming increasingly important in education, the work force, and for the average Internet user. This session will focus on improving digital literacy for homeschooled children and offer teaching suggestions for parents. Parents, as educators, can thoughtfully determine which tools are essential to their digital literacy tool kit. It will provide an overview on how to evaluate the accuracy and objectivity of a website, selecting effective keywords to search a database or database, and helpful search modifiers.
