White Pedagogy is a movement based on respecting the childrens' talents and academic interests. There is no coercion, nothing is based on fear or obligation. Unschooling is the perfect example of White Pedagogy, but is often confused with neglecting the child's education; lots of persons think that leaving the child alone is unschooling - nothing further from reality. Unschooling is practically child-led education and it consists in respecting their interests and rhythms, always acompanied by adults. It means meeting their physical, social, cultural and intellectual needs and requirements, surrounding them with adequate encouragement and providing materials and activities that help them to thrive academically. Parents can choose materials, tutors, even some specifical schools that are of the childrens' interests, and still provide an unschooled curriculum, totally based on individual/ personal choices and needs.
