About Me
Richard Glover is the CEO of an educational consulting firm, 16Hertz, LLC. Previously her was the Special Projects Coordinator at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and is a member of the faculty there, providing training and instruction in campus and industrial security at the Criminal Justice Center and training and technical assistance for the NY/NJ Regional Community Policing Institute. As Chief of Training for the New York City Department of Education, Mr. Glover operated the first and only training academy for school safety officers and pioneered curriculum on security techniques and approaches designed specifically for use in schools. Within DOE, he rose to the level of Executive Director of School Safety and Emergency Management with the New York City Department of Education and was in charge of DOE’s Gang Prevention and Intervention Unit, Executive Protection Unit, and School Safety Division. With the NYC Department of Correction, Richard was the Executive Director of the Division of Social Services, providing services to over 20,000 inmates and detainees. Prior to that, Richard was the Chief Executive Officer of School Safety Professionals, L.L.C., a school safety consulting firm. Richard Glover is currently an ABD student at the Columbia University School of Social Work in Social Work Administration. He received his Masters in Social Work Administration from Columbia University, where he teaches graduate level courses, and his Bachelors of Business Administration from Boston University. Mr. Glover also served as an expert witness for the United States Department of Justice/Civil Rights Division. He has also presented at three national conferences on safety and security-related issues and published two books and four articles on safety and security in schools.
