About Me
I'm an educator who in 2014 navigated a successful thirty-five year career in special and general education in San Diego Unified School District. I now take my experience and innovative spirit to create Collaborative Learning Spaces™ as an educational consulting service. My passions over the years have evolved around project-based learning, classroom layout and educational technology to optimally engage students. Over the years as a classroom teacher, resource teacher and coordinator of curriculum and technology, I became dissatisfied with traditional teacher presentations of direction instruction with a classroom of students facing a front teaching wall. My approach to use the design elements of collaborative learning, physical space and digital space is surely not unique, but still today are not commonly integrated in K-12 strategic planning between curriculum and operations personnel within the same school district.
